Andrew, the young comparative religions professor
from Book I,

Adam flesh, by mating with a young and mysterious
Middle Eastern
woman known as Mara. The time is right at last,
so what can
possibly stop Andrew and Mara from coming together
in
fulfillment of prophecy? Well, for one thing,
there's Michael.
And then there are those who follow Michael, the
great archangel
who's made it his mission to keep humanity in
its current
ignorant and deluded state. Ranged on the looming
battle's other
side are Mantrella, Bringer of Light, and those
who follow him.
Meanwhile, Earth itself convulses as its inhabitants
endure the
plagues of Revelation. Will those who can stop
Michael act in
time? And even if they do, will they prevail?
Once again authors Doe and Harris draw together
the whole range
of humankind's myths and spiritual beliefs, and
use those
threads to weave a story no one else could have
imagined. The
tale twists and turns, with new puzzles popping
up even as those
from the first book resolve (at least in part),
until WAKING GOD
II ends with a cliffhanger that may just make
you want to
scream. Scream for the next and final installment,
that is...!

Swami Predicts Heart Times Ahead
Every year at this time, I am asked to make predictions, and each time I politely refuse because I don’t want
to jeopardize my nonprophet status. But this year is different. With 2012 just one quantum leap year away, we humans might
finally be ready for a quantum leap of our own. The message is coming in loud and clear. Time to shift or get off the pot.
In
order to upshift our karma into surpassing gear, however, we must shift our awareness downward from the static of the head
to the ecstatic of the heart. If we are to have an awakening instead of a wake, I predict heart times ahead.
Disheartenment in the Heartland
Heartenment, after all, is just the thing to counteract the disheartenment in the heartland. Take the economy -- please!
After years of untreated Deficit Inattention Disorder, the U.S. dollar is now worth less than a dollar of Monopoly money.
As the most recent Greenspan report tells us, the average American family barely has enough green to span the average month.
Meanwhile, trickle down economics has proved true to its name, leaving a growing class of pee-ons at the bottom.
Then
there’s electile dysfunction. Instead of transparency around how votes are cast and counted, we have an apparent trance.
The secret ballot has been taken to the next level, and now voting machines with secret software count the votes in secret.
This is called “faith-based” vote counting. Hey, some of those new “smart” voting machines are so
smart, that they don’t even need voters! This makes perfect sense because government of, by and for the people has now
been efficiently transformed to government of, by and for the very, very few people. Talk about minority representation. We
are now governed by a smaller minority than ever in our history!
Even when we do manage to get an election, the body
politic still suffers from impotence. As we learned after the 2006 election, just because we vote for someone doesn’t
mean they are going to vote for us. Instead of canceling the Iraqi Horror Picture Show, the Democratic misleadership has gone
along with the same basic neocon con, only with a cosmetic makeover – sort of a wolfawitz in sheepawitz’s clothing.
Though
the upwising continues, irony deficiency and truth decay still plague the body politic. Instead of forums that shine light
on political issues, the media has encouraged againstums where incendiary phrases spark heated arguments. So, while red tribe
Republicans and blue tribe Democrats argue whether it’s wronger to kill the born or the unborn, the born keep dying
while the not-yet-born are stuck with the bill. No wonder our moral compass has gone south.
As if global warring isn’t
enough to worry about, now there’s global warming. It would be sad indeed to have come this far, only to see the headline: “Human Race
Ends In a Dead Heat.”
No
wonder so many people are scared shiftless. The good news is, this is the State of the Universe Address and I am happy to
report that the state of the Universe is copasetic – ever changing, same as always. This is particularly heartening
when we realize that that universal state is also our own.
Universe Knows Best
When
it comes to universal wisdom, you can’t beat the Universe. First of all, the Universe is everywhere all at once. Talk
about being on top of things. Even as it keeps expanding, the Universe has it together -- which means, as part of the universe,
a part of us has it all together too. We are inextricably connected to the Universe. It is inescapable. Without the Universe,
we’d be nowhere.
Here is more amazing news. We are all descended from the same Big Bang! When the Big Bang went
boom, all of the Universe’s parts departed from one particle. And that includes us. So, we might as well proclaim it
proudly. “The Big Bang is my pop. Well, I’ll be a son of a gun!”
The Big Bang is everybody’s
pop, which means we are all related. If we are indeed a fractal chip off the old block, Universe-wise ... then somewhere we
must be as wise as the Universe. For millennia, spiritual teachers have told us to look inside for this universal wisdom.
It turns out, they were right. The real spiritual pilgrimage is actually a journey of about twenty-four inches, roughly the
distance from the head to the heart.
The Heart of the Matter is the Matter of the Heart
Yes, everyone is equipped to attune to universal wisdom because everyone has been given a heart. And yet, the heart
seems to be the last gift we open. The most underdeveloped resource on the planet is the treasure inside our own treasured
chest! Given all the craziness in the world, maybe if we invested in expanding our hearts, we’d have less need to shrink
our heads.
And less of a need to be so all-consumed by consumerism. We have learned to spend so much energy pursuing
happiness that we never stop to think what would happen if we actually caught it -- or rather, if it caught us. With all this
hot pursuit, we have left real happiness in the dust. It is sad indeed that we end up jealous that someone else’s happiness
might be bigger than our own. Freud called this “happiness envy.”
As the saying goes, money can’t
buy happiness, although it can buy anti-depressants. But if you are seeking more out of life than not being depressed, the
key to happiness is to grow your own. Every one of us should be asking, “What good am I?” What good can I add
to the greater goodness? Maybe if we had greater goodness, we’d need fewer goods. As human beings, our biggest asset
is love, so now is the time to get up off our big fat assets, and practice supply-side spirituality. Because we aren’t
here to earn God’s love, we are here to spend it. We are here to re-grow the Garden from the grassroots up, and have
a heaven of a time doing it!
Heartland Security
Now
while the solution is simple, no one said it was going to be easy. Just as the human potential movement has made great gains
over the past 25 years, the inhuman potential movement has more than kept up. Everywhere I go, the little David’s I
meet all ask the same question: How can we get Goliath to go lieth down? I have good news and I have other news, and they
are both the same: It’s up to us. We must lead ourselves out of the bewilderness. Yes, we’ve been politically
abused, so the first step is to disabuse ourselves. We must start overseeing instead of overlooking.
By overlooking
what we should have been overseeing, we have become enablers for the lowest common dominator. Whether it’s called globalization
or gobble-ization, it’s the same old mining operation -- that’s mine, that’s mine, that’s mine. Because
we’ve allowed ourselves to imagine that someday that “mine” will be ours, we have agreed to a “don’t
ask, don’t tell” policy with our government. We promise not to ask them what they are doing, and they promise
not to tell us. That way, we can pretend to believe we are invading a country to keep the peace, when we are really there
to keep the pieces.
Meanwhile, back at home, they’ve given last rites to the Bill of Rights, and newspeak has become the new spoken language
of the mainstream media. Now before we just shrug and say, “Orwell, what can we do about it?” we need to see the
only way to overgrow Big Brother is with bigger brotherhood -- and even bigger sisterhood. Time to heal our spiritual dyslexia,
and realize our natural
state is sacred, not scared. The scared masculine and the scared feminine have given us the dysfunctional dance of
abusers and enablers. Now we must empower the sacred masculine and sacred feminine to come together and conceive what has
been inconceivable – the truly evolved human.
We need to amplify the love and light to counterbalance the darkness
and fear, and that is why we need a nongovernmental Department of Heartland Security to secure the heartland and let the powers
in power know in no uncertain terms, “Bigger brotherhood is watching you.”
To do that, we must migrate
en masse --regardless of political or spiritual affiliation -- to the land of the heart. Instead of squabbling over the differences
that separate us, we must cohere around the heart-core values we share in common. That is the only way we can trade our insecurity
for inner security. No matter where we stand on climate change, one thing is clear. Global heartwarming is bound to change the political climate
for the better.
Whatever the problems, we have the wherewithal to address them. Now all we need is the aware-with-all.
Whether you call yourself a creationist or an evolutionist, or take the simplest approach of all to the Great Unknown -- not
knowing -- one thing is undeniable: We are all one with the same One. The story of separation, survival of the fittest, and
lowest common dominator --that is the old story.
Only we have the power to close the book on the old story once and
for all, by declaring: And they all lived happily ever after.
And happily ever after begins now.

On the night of February 20 when the moon will move through the Earth's shadow is what should be the most exciting total
lunar eclipse for northern hemisphere and western observers in many years. For this year's event, the entire eclipse can be
seen from the Rocky Mountains eastward to the New England seaboard , as well as into wesern
Europe and Africa and all of South
America. Points west of the Rockies will not be able to witness the eclipse throughout its entirity. NOTE that the moon will
be very low in the eastern sky at the beginning of this eclipse which will last (including penumbral, or outer shadow, phases)
for greater than four hours! The timetable, in Central parts of the USA and Canada, is: Moon moves into faint penumbral shadow: 7:05
CST Moon moves into umbral shadow, eclipse begins visibly: 7:43 CST Total Eclipse Begins (moon now in complete shadow):

Weather permitting. ____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ On February 23rd at dusk, due to the
geometry of the Earth's orbit and the fact that there is no Moon to see in the western twlight for the next two weeks, this
could be a good time to look for the elusive "Zodiacal Light." This is a large, faint, cone shaped glow rising from the place
on the horizon where the Sun goes down. Apparently centered on the Sun and typically rising at an angle to the South, this
diffuse glow is likely caused by sunlight reflecting off tiny particles along the orbital path of the planets (the Ecliptic). ____________
_________ _________ _________ _________ __ February 26 - DELTA LEONID METEORS - With the moon at strong gibbous
phase in 2008, and in the evening skies, this will be a less favorable year for this minor meteor shower for EARLY observers...
this is the the only meteor shower that February has to offer each year. The Earth actually intersects the cloud of cometary
or asteroidal (the actual source of the cloud is not known at this time....) as early as Feb. 5 each year and seems to be
encountering meteoric material as late as March 19; nonetheless, there IS a definite peak each year that seems to center on
the last few days of February. These are moderately slow meteors, traveling at about 24 KPS, and only about five per hour
can be expected at most. The radiant, at astronomical coordinates: RA 10h 36m / DEC +19 deg, is found about midway between
the moderately bright stars Zosma and Algeiba (the two that make the long stretch of the Lion's Back in Leo); look for these
stars and the meteor shower to be nearly overhead for mid-northern latitudes about 11 p.m. local time, with most meteors seen
well after. Hence, by the time the first quarter moon SETS about midnight, the meteor shower should be just beginning to peak! ____________

SHIFTING HEAT LAYERS

PARIS (AFP) - The dramatic loss of the Arctic
ice cap may have been triggered by disruption to the thermal layers of atmosphere stacked over Earth's far north, according
to Swedish research to be published Thursday.
The study, published in Nature, offers a new explanation
for the rise in the Arctic's surface temperature, which over the past century has been nearly
two degrees Celsius (3.6 Fahrenheit), or twice the global average.
Until now, the big suspect in "Arctic amplification"
has been reflectivity of sunlight.
When the Sun's rays hit snow or ice, most of that
solar energy bounces back into space -- but as those melting surfaces give way to dark-blue sea, the heat is absorbed instead.
This self-reinforcing process, called a feedback,
is an established factor in accelerating warming in snow and ice.
But Stockholm
University scientists led by Rune Graversen believe a possibly bigger
cause for Arctic warming could be changes in heat transport in the middle of the troposphere, an atmospheric band that extends
10 kilometers (seven miles) above Earth's surface.
In polar regions, the layers of relative heat
above the surface are usually stable. But Graversen says that over the last two decades or so there have been changes in Arctic
atmospheric circulation which have brought in heat and moisture.
The moisture is particularly important, as it
helps form persistent low cloud over the Arctic.
Moisture-laden clouds at this altitude tend to
absorb heat from the Sun, thus bringing a warming effect close to the surface. In contrast, high-altitude clouds, which mainly
comprise icy crystals, reflect heat back into space, and thus cool the surface.
The circulatory shifts have an especially big
impact in summer, says Graversen.
In 2007, summer sea ice in the Arctic
shrank to about four million square kilometers (2.4 million square miles), a 23 percent decrease from the previous record
low of 5.3 million square kilometers in 2005.
A second study, also in Nature, meanwhile, shows
that the capacity of vegetation to absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) appears to be ebbing, with potentially serious consequences
for global warming.

Pope's exorcist squads will wage
war on Satan

Satanism on the rise: Pope Benedict has unveiled plans to set up specialist exorcism squads
The Pope has ordered his bishops to set
up exorcism squads to tackle the rise of Satanism.
Vatican
chiefs are concerned at what they see as an increased interest in the occult.
They have introduced courses for priests
to combat what they call the most extreme form of "Godlessness."
Each bishop is to be told to have in his
diocese a number of priests trained to fight demonic possession.
The initiative was revealed by 82-year-old
Father Gabriele Amorth, the Vatican "exorcistinchief," to the online Catholic news service Petrus.
"Thanks be to God, we have a Pope who has
decided to fight the Devil head-on," he said.
"Too many bishops are not taking this seriously
and are not delegating their priests in the fight against the Devil. You have to hunt high and low for a properly trained
exorcist.
"Thankfully, Benedict XVI believes in the
existence and danger of evil - going back to the time he was in charge of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith."
The CDF is the oldest Vatican department and was headed by Benedict from 1982, when he was
Cardinal Ratzinger, until he became Pope in 2005.
Father Amorth said that during his time
at the department Benedict had not lost the chance to warn humanity of the risk from the Devil.
He said the Pope wants to restore a prayer
seen as protection against evil that was traditionally recited at the end of Catholic Masses. The prayer, to St Michael the
Archangel, was dropped in the 1960s by Pope John XXIII.

The 1973 film The Exorcist deals with the
demonic possession of a young girl: Now the Pope wants specialist exorcism squads in every parish
"The prayer is useful not only for priests
but also for lay people in helping to fight demons," he said.
Father Paolo Scarafoni, who lectures on
the Vatican's exorcism course, said interest
in Satanism and the occult has grown as people lost faith with the church.
He added: "People suffer and think that
turning to the Devil can help solve their problems. We are being bombarded by requests for exorcisms."
The Vatican is particularly concerned that young people are being exposed to the influence
of Satanic sects through rock music and the Internet.
In theory, under the Catholic Church's
Canon Law 1172, all priests can perform exorcisms. But in reality only a select few are assigned the task.
Under the law, practitioners must have
"piety, knowledge, prudence, and integrity of life."
The rite of exorcism involves a series
of gestures and prayers to invoke the power of God and stop the "demon" influencing its victim.
Hindus, Christians clash in India

NEW DELHI - Hindu extremists torched nearly
a dozen churches and the home of a Christian leader Thursday, defying a curfew imposed to quell three days of religious violence
in eastern India. Christians retaliated
by setting fire to several homes belonging to Hindus.
Local police have been unsuccessful in halting the attacks and the federal
government announced it was sending in a paramilitary force.
About 19 churches, most of them small mud and thatch buildings, have been razed
since violence broke out on Christmas Eve when long-standing tensions between the Hindu majority and the small Christian community
erupted over conversions to Christianity.
Hindu groups have long charged Christian missionaries with trying to lure the
poor and those who occupy the lowest rungs of Hinduism's complex caste-system away with promises of money and jobs.
On Thursday, a mob of Hindus burned down the house of Radhakant Nayak, a member
of India's upper house of parliament and
a Christian leader in the area, Nayak told the CNN-IBN news channel.
Also, 11 churches were ransacked and burned in Kandhamal district of Orissa
state, the Press Trust of India quoted unnamed police officials as saying.
Superintendent of Police Narsingh Bhol said several prayer houses were ransacked
and some were set on fire, but he did not have the exact number.
Meanwhile, in the village
of Brahmangaon, a group of Christians burned down several Hindu homes
in an apparent retaliation for the attack on churches. Angry Hindus then burned down the village police station, complaining
of a lack of protection, a local police official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to
speak to reporters.
Bahugrahi Mahapatra, a senior government official in the area confirmed there
had been "disturbances" in the village, but could not provide details.
One person has been killed and at least 25 people, belonging to both Hindu
and Christian communities, have been arrested for suspected involvement in the violence, Bhol told The Associated Press by
phone.
But the arrests and curfew have not stopped the attacks and the federal government
said it was sending in a 300-strong paramilitary force.
"We have to get the violence under control," the junior federal home minister,
Sriprakash Jaiswal, told reporters.
India
is overwhelmingly Hindu but officially secular. Religious minorities, such as Christians, who account for 2.5 percent of the
country's 1.1. billion people, and Muslims, who make up 14 percent, often coexist peacefully.
But throughout India's
history, the issue of conversions has provoked violence by hard-line Hindus.
Orissa has one of the worst histories of anti-Christian violence. An Australian
missionary and his two sons, aged 8 and 10, were burned to death in their car in Orissa following a Bible study class in 1999.
Orissa is the only Indian state that has a law requiring people to obtain police
permission before they change their religion. The law was intended to counter missionary work.
There were conflicting reports of what started the violence in the rural district
of Kandhamal, about 840 miles southeast of New Delhi. Each
side blamed the other.
The Hindu hard-liners said Christians had attempted to attack one of their
leaders, who heads an anti-conversion movement.
But the New Delhi-based Catholic Bishops Conference of India said the fighting
began when Hindu extremists objected to a show marking Christmas Eve, believing it was designed to encourage conversions.

He has put up a few sample chapters, the inside scoop on the mysterious Apostolic Tribunal of the
Roman Rota, mnade links to Nostradamus-which has a connection to Book II and taunts you with a picture of The Last Supper
implying that Book II will offer new revelations about DaVinci's link to the Tarot and secret societies.
He may have even mentioned some of the new characters in Book II.

In the Old Reality, things were seen as opposites - black or
white, hot or cold, good or bad, this way or that way. In the
expanded view of New Reality consciousness, life is seen in a
unified way. Opposite sides of the coin are viewed, not as
polar opposites, but rather as just being different aspects of
the one coin.
In the New Reality view of the world, the opposite extremes of
black and white become, instead, endless shades of gray. Hot
and cold become variable degrees of warmth. Good and bad become
different shades of human nature; free of the judgment, hate
and fear that comes with Old Reality, polarized thinking.
In the Old Reality, destiny and free will were seen as
mutually exclusive.
The reasoning was that, if destiny exists,
then it controls everything and, therefore, free will does not
exist. On the other hand, you can prove that free will does
exist by making a choice. So, as the thinking goes, if free
will does exist, then there can be no destiny.
But, wait. Perhaps that choice of "free will" was really a
pre-destined one. Perhaps the person was destined to make that
choice all long, so the experience of choice was just an
illusion. At this point, people usually give up on the whole
question because it has turned into one of those brain teasers,
like asking which came first - the chicken or the egg.
Brain teasers
keep your mind in an endless loop until you try
stepping back from the situation and seeing it in a wider
perspective. The new, wider perspective allows for the
inclusion of non-materialistic factors. In deciding whether the
chicken or the egg came first, for example, you just have to
step back and see that the Creator designed the chicken to be
self-perpetuating.
When you step back and see destiny and free will from a wider
perspective, you realize that nothing has to be absolute. If
every event in your life were pre-ordained, there would be no
such thing as free will or self-determination. As we do have
free will, destiny cannot be fixed.
Destiny is therefore variable, not fixed. Destiny and free
will both exist as interwoven facets of your life. Like threads
in a tapestry, they interact with each other and blend to form
the outcomes that are the events in your life.
Your destiny is created by plans that you made at a soul level
of consciousness. Before you were born, you made your main plan
for this life. Then, the minute you were born, the rules of the
game demanded that you also get a case of amnesia about the
whole arrangement. Such is the game of life in the physical
realm.
However, at night when you go to sleep, you have the chance to
visit the deepest levels of human consciousness and review how
the original plan is unfolding and make changes to your plan if
desired. When you return to your physical body and awake in the
morning, amnesia strikes again. Within seconds of your
conscious mind returning into your physical brain, you forget
both the surface dreams and the deep experiences of the night.
Amnesia may be a part of the game we are playing in this life,
but inner guidance is always is always available to anyone who
pays attention to it. Your intuition is your link to your soul,
or inner being, which is also linked to the rest of the
universe and all levels of Creation.
You are never left alone to fumble in the darkness of a purely
physical life. Your inner being is always there with you,
expressing itself through the quiet whisperings of intuitive
information. Thanks to this inner compass of knowing, you can
always sense which choice feels right. You can always tell when
your life is running on plan, and you can tell equally well if
you've become temporarily distracted from your plan. You always
have the means to be right on course, or get back on course,
and explore the fascinating themes that make up your life plan.
The most productive use of free will is to explore your true
potential within the themes of your life, thus gaining the
greatest possible experience from your life plan.
Destiny is an influence that comes from your inner plan. There
is nothing absolute about your destiny. It's a pressure which
constantly seeks the best route to unfold into manifestation.
Free will provides the means to manifest that destiny in a way
that provides the learning that you came here to acquire in
this life.
Destiny is variable. It adapts to the circumstances of your
life every second of the day. As destiny unfolds, you feel it
within as a sense of being a part of the flow of life, of
manifesting your potential in the way that you planned for this
day and that you planned for this life.
Destiny is the plan. Free will is the action. Experience is
the result.
That's what being human is all about.

Jesus Taught It, Too is truly a beautiful book - and I rarely use the word beautiful when it comes to books! I just couldn't put it down - the combination of the message
of Jesus along with Philip Harris' way of putting it in written prose is really like music to the soul. You'll just want to
read it again and again.
What is exciting is the common factor that all the wisdom-lovers shared throughout history.
No matter how diverse one sage's teachings are to the other, the building blocks of their messages remain one and the same.
For a while, I have been construing the works of a number of Sufis (Muslim mystics) ranging from Muhyi-i-Din Ibn Arabi and
Mansur al-Hallaj, to Abdul-Qadir Jilani and Jalal-ud-Din Mohammed Rumi and have discovered that what they preached was simply
an echo to what Jesus had taught over a millennium before them. It was the Law of Attraction all the way!
Love is
the core concept within Sufism and is the one form of energy that brought the Universe into being and keeps intact. It is
this Love that unites the Lover (Man) with the Beloved
(God) - and since Sufism follows a form of pantheism, God becomes synonymous with the Universe. Therefore, loving God is simply
loving the Universe. To many Sufis, including Shams-od-Din Hafez and Rabi'a al-Adawiyya, this Love is even propelled to a
degree of romantic (and at times, sexual)
expressions between Mankind and God (the Universe). And when this bond of Love becomes absolute, Man and God will merge into
a single entity.
It truly is amazing to realize that what seemed to have been one of the Universe's most puzzling
riddles is in fact one of the sweetest and simplest hymns that binds us all together in collective Love. And all of the divine
splendor is within us all and is merely a thought away.
"Come, come, whoever you
are,
Wanderer, idolater, worshipper of fire,
Come even though you have broken your vows a thousand times,
Come and come yet again,
Ours is not a caravan of despair."

BRIAN IS COMING ALONG WITH THE EDITING OF WAKING GOD BOOK II.
He did go into an editing frenzy and began chopping out out sentences and arranging paragraphs by hand. Silly
man-I told him it is easier to use the computer-you know, cut and past-He took the CUT part too literally!
Truly, it is progressing but with Brian's mental condition it is moving slower than expected. I am
sure he will have it done before-well-before the end of the millenia.

Wondering about Book II of WAKING GOD: THE SACRED ROTA? Have you missed the WG newsletter?
The book was pretty much finished. Brian decided he wanted to give it a once over edit. Poor man, it was his
undoing. There have been few a few odd occurances surrounding WAKING GOD. Odd things have happened to people when
they have read it. For example, Piers Abnthony's computer crashed as soon as he finished it and there have been other unusual
happenings. But, that is another story.
So poor Brian decides that a few chapters might need re-arranging. Oh, such a fool he can be. As he unravelled
the chapter puzzle it became, more puzzling. Brian melted down. He is in treatment now and they let him out on weekends to
see his family. He insists that he will put the story back together in a coherent fashion and his doctors assure me
that he is working diligently-between bouts of cartoon watching and spells of supreme enlightenment.
As long as he stays on his meds I do believe that he will succeed in completing the final MS. In the meantime,
I will post a newsletter here for those who want to keep up on our activities.
